Han Tin Swe

Han Tin Swe was born in 1958 and studied art under Saya Tin Shwe. He first made a name for himself in the art world in 1983 as a cover artist and illustrator for novels and magazines. Every year since 1996, Han Tin Swe has exhibited in group shows. He has been in exhibitions in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the U.S. His first solo show took place at Pansodan Scene in 2015; the show was titled A Ka Sa, which means "space" in the Myanmar language. Space is an important topic when it comes to Han Tin Swe's paintings, since he often tries to create a sense of space between certain lines and a variety of colour fields. His art work is clearly Burmese in context, but also contains some international influences such as a sense of surrealism.
