Thoe Htein

Born in 1980 in Yangon, Myanmar, Thoe Htein is a visual artist and an illustrator. Fascinated by visual arts and painting, he studied art alongside the famous Burmese painter Kin Maung Yin. He found a special interest in Pop art and comics; he is inspired by various artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Phyoe Kyi, Sergio Toppi, Frank Miller and Ashley Wood. In his art, he transmitted contemporary issues. Since 2011, he has illustrated numerous comics for various publishing houses and he participated in collective and solo exhibitions since 2012, nationally and internationally, in Myanmar, Thailand and Korea. He arrived in France in 2022 and is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
