Aung Myint
Artist Aung Myint, founder of The Inya Art Gallery, was born in 1946, in Yangon. It was during his days as a student at Rangoon University that he started to exhibit, as a self-taught artist, his first show in 1960. Today, as a leading figure in Myanmar's contemporary art scene Aung Myint is often called the father of Myanmar’s Modern Art demonstrating versatility as an artist beyond painting with performance and sculptural works.
